Origins

We are a place-based organization. Our name, People’s Park Brochures, recognizes Berkeley, California.

Berkeley is where this project was founded and fed by many sources of inspiration—from the idealism of the Free Speech Movement and People’s Park to other local happenings, experiences, and relationships.

Though based in the San Francisco Bay Estuary watershed, People’s Park Brochures aims to be a home for park brochures from around the world.

I love to take long looks in parks when I go looking for meaning in the story of life.

The practice of making park brochures and the act of sharing such interpretations is an invitation to know a place and and connect with each other more intimately.
